Wow! Great Job, in speaking for what you believe in and choosing to not only preach on the easier subjects. Thank you, I'm looking forward to more posts about this subject.

We need to realize that this will be the method of communication and information for the next couple of generations. We need to use these tools to influence and inform for the Glory of God. We should risk some resources towards that end!

Comment on The International Mission Board Is Cutting Funds by Jim

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say we here in the US are gospel-saturated, but it does concern me that more $$ is not going towards missions both in North America and beyond.

As to the missionaries, yes, I am concerned about that too, Daniel. I called Capitol Hill Baptist Church (Mark Dever) asking them for a list of missionaries that they support. Though they still give to the CP, their money has been greatly reduced b/c they are supporting missionaries directly (which is my desire). Not to say that it's bad to pull our funds together, but how do I know if these missionaries are truly proclaiming the Gospel? What kind of Gospel are they preaching? Is it the Rick Warren way (who is a Southern Baptist)? I have serious issues with that.

A hearty amen!

Maybe it's because I am relatively recent to SBC life, but I had always just thought that CP funds only went to state programs, that the Annie Armstrong went to NAMB, and that the Lottie Moon went to IMB. I see that I was mistaken about the CP. It does trouble me that so much of our money and energy stays here in the (relatively) gospel-saturated US while so little goes to those who have fewer or no exposures to the gospel.

What worries me more is wondering how many of our IMB and NAMB missionaries are actually sharing the Biblical gospel. It sounds silly to say this. But there are so many "sappers" -- both theological and practical -- that can distract missionaries from actually sharing the true gospel. (And maybe I should just start by looking in the mirror, because the same sappers can prevent me from sharing the gospel with unbelievers here in the US.)

Funny how people can say they love you and then leave you. I'm glad God promises not to do that to us! Because Christ experienced that on the cross we don't have to experience it from God. So why do we think it's ok to do to other Christians. Doesn't look like living out the Gospel to me.
